This canyon is littered with steep and challenging hill climbs. These climbs are steep and loose enough that you really need a big 4-stroke or a 500cc 2-stroke to make it to the top consistently. The valleys are deep with sand and you can do long loops (IMS tank recommended), but the most interesting routes do require a few good hill climbs.
Sometimes during the evening, violent canyon winds may kick up and do a pretty good job of shaking up RV’s and trailers. The visitor center at the entrance has maps and guide books for all of the surrounding area. A quarter mile to the south is a small gas pump, with ATV rentals, repairs and a restaurant.
