The ITP Mud Lite ATV tire family consists of four models of tires which are the, AT, XL, XXL and XTR. This group of mud tires from ITP is one of the most versatile collections on the market. From the average trail rider to the blackwater swamp bogger there’s an application to meet any size challenge.
The biggest attraction to these tires is their value. The MudLite collection is well made using an extended wear rubber compound to give the tire longevity. The tread pattern is perfect for sweeping mud from the center of the tread to the outside of the tire allowing the tire to quickly dig down for better grip. The elongated arrow shaped center tread also provides constant contact with the surface to provide a smooth ride on hard pack trails. All this at a price point that is attractive to anyone shopping around for a quality mud tire.
All four models are a 6 ply construction which is perfect for a full blood ATV mud tire. The AT, XL and XXL are bias-ply and the XTR is a radial design. As I pointed out before, the tread pattern design has some key features like the way the tread enables mud and water to be pushed to the outside of the treads. Notice on the XL and XXL models the treads are spaced further apart, this feature keeps mud from building up in the treads allowing the lugs to get more traction. The lugs on all four models also have the centers of the lugs hollowed out, yet another feature that gives the tire added traction.
The difference between the XL and XXL : The Mud Lite XL has a tread height of 1 1/8 inch and the Mud Lite XXL has a tread height of just over 1 ¼ inch. The Mud Lite XXL only comes in 30 inch and is only available for 12 & 14 inch wheels. So, for you to be able to run the XXL a 2 inch lift kit and heavy duty axles should be considered for best performance. The Mud Lite XTR is a radial design and is available for 12 & 14 inch wheels. The tread depth is an aggressive 1 1/8 inch tall.
After doing some homework we found MotoSport has the best price on the Mud Lite AT, XL & XTR. If you need the XXL model check out Dennis Kirk, Amazon or Ebay they carry all the sizes.
