If you’ve taken your UTV on some serious outings you’ve come to find out you can always use more places to put your gear. UTV cargo racks are a great solution for turning your UTV into a real pack animal. While the stock trunks/decks offer sufficient cargo storage they are not equipped to handle more than a few essentials such as a tool kit and lunchbox.
If you plan on carrying tents, tackle boxes, deer stands, chainsaws or any of the other 100’s of things riders are stacking on their UTV then a new cargo rack comes in handy. Fortunately a new rack doesn’t have to be a significant investment. Front hood racks start at just over $100 and back racks can be in the $225-$300 range. Roof top cargo racks can be expensive if you get a model that doubles as a roof and a rack, but regular racks that connect to the top of the roll cage are just as affordable as the front and rear racks.
When considering which UTV cargo rack to purchase carefully consider exactly how you would utilize the rack and what other cargo accessories such as fuel packs, cargo boxes, spare tire mounts and hunting racks that you may add on later. Find racks that will work with the type of system you want to create.
As always, we included a list of UTV/Side X Side cargo rack manufactures and the best places to get them. If you have anything to add to the post please feel free to comment below, it’s what it’s there for.
